QUESTION 20
Personal History Question 20 is, “Write about your cousins.”
Well, I spent time first around my maternal cousins. They were all older than me. I had one that was maybe 2 years older than me. I was the youngest. I have nice memories of all of them. But, we basically only ever saw each other on the holidays.
My paternal cousins, I would see on visits to Baltimore. When we moved to West Virginia, my aunt moved there a short time later and I actually got to have day-to-day interactions with them. My cousin K and I spent a LOT of time together. He became one of my favorite people ever. When we moved away, I came back to see them whenever I could. As soon as I got my license and a car, every opportunity I got, I made a visit. I can remember making the 14 hour drive down, spending barely 2 days and then making the trek home… I loved them. All of them. Life and time has separated us all, and I find it really depressing.
I won’t go into the rest of it. There are very few of them that I talk to any more. So sad…
