    Friday Five!

Found over at Friday 5! When did you last have to ‘MacGyver’ something? In what way were you spontaneous this week? What have you recently completed at the last minute? How good are you at thinking up a quick lie? What’s your personal time organizer system like? A couple weeks ago. I have two cats. One of them I have to stuff into the carrier with much fight. But, once he is in there, he just chills out. The other? Good LORD. If put into a carrier, she will puke, pee, and shit. By the time we get to the vet, it is a real mess. So, I saw this…

    Question 28

Personal History Question 28 is, “How did you typically celebrate your birthday?” My parents always threw me a party! My family and friends would come celebrate with me. I had a few where it was just us at home. Mom always baked me a cake or got me an ice cream cake from Carvel. As I got older and was working, she would send me flowers, a plant, or balloons to my work. I loved it. I always felt so loved. Then, on my 24th birthday, my Pop died. I had only been home 4 days from a trip to spend 2 weeks with him. He had cancer. His death…

    Friday Five!

Found over at Friday Five! Among people you know, who seems to be a natural leader? When have you had leadership thrust upon you? Are you most effective as the person at the front of the line motivating others to come along, the behind-the-scenes-make-sure-everything-gets-done second-in-command, the enthusiastic follower, or the devil’s advocate? Where did you learn most of your leadership skills? What is a most underrated leadership skill? My friend Ann. She is seriously the most kick-ass woman I have ever met. She not only talks the talk, but she walks the walk. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D (at almost age 50!) She is extremely vocal, unapologetic, and fierce.…

    Pets

We have three. One dog, two cats. I would have a house full of cats if it wouldn’t make my husband move out. lol. The cats: Snafu is our big, fluffy white boy. He is sweet. Demanding at times, and a total love muffin. Nova is our little black girl. She is basically a fur covered terrorist. You can sit and watch her literally looking around for stuff to knock over. She is why we cannot have nice things. We love her fiercely. The dog: Teddy B, aka Sausage. He is lazy and fat. He barks at strangers like he will take their face off, but when a deer wanders…

    Question 27

Personal History Question 27 is, “Write about your most memorable birthday.” Hm. I guess my 13th, and my 40th are the ones that really stick out. My 18th was cool too, as it was a combo birthday/graduation party. For my 13th, my mom told me that my gift was big, but small. It drove me mad for days. It was a hundred dollar bill. With that, I bought like 6 new outfits for the following school year. My 18th was just a huge party out on the deck with all of my best people from that time. And my 40th… my friend Holly arranged to fly my mom up from…

    Question 26

Personal History Question 26 is, “What was your favorite food as a child?” Hm. Tough one. My favorite foods depend on my mood. Pizza or lasagna was up there when I was real little. And French fries and tater tots. As a teen, my dad’s chili, and my mom’s spaghetti. My dad used to make this one meal every now and then.. it was kielbasa, potatoes, onions, peppers, baby corn, carrots and some times broccoli. He would toss it in EVOO, season it with salt and pepper and some garlic and onion powder and roast it in the oven. I can remember walking up onto the deck on a cold…

    Question 25

Personal History Question 25 is, “Who taught you how to drive?” That was all my dad. My mom was too nervous. It really did not take too long. I remember he took me to a parking lot somewhere near the house. He made me practice all the usual stuff, especially a 3 point turn. After the 3rd or 4th time, he let me drive home. He would let me drive to the bus stop, and to the store (with him in the car of course, and I did have my permit) and such. I failed my license the first time because my tire rubbed the curb when I parked. I…
